ABOUT AARON SIMON (USA):
Age: 24
Profession: Human Being
"I started conlanging when I was 16, but my entire life I have been interested in languages of various kinds.  I have always babbled, and slowly the little bits came all together.
I wanted something to speak which no one else could understand, so that I could have a “safe place” for my thoughts. Eventually it became something quite different, and now it has a life of its own!"

ABOUT SANDIC:
Conlang’s history: It began as a code for writing things in, but now I feel almost as if it is a calling.  It is like a child of mine, and I live in it.  I speak a little every day, sing, etc.  Maybe someday, god willing, I will be fluent in it.
Age of language: Sandic is ten years old.

THE THREE LANGUAGES I FIND MOST BEAUTIFUL:
1. Portuguese.  I love the sound of it.  There is something about the way it sounds like a song which makes me smile when I hear it.
2. Arabic.  I can’t put my finger on what I love about it, but the fact that it is so different than what I grew up with, but still so gorgeous, is incredible. Arabic's script is like a godparent to Sandic's, so perhaps this is why I love it so dearly.
3. Wampanoag.  This language was lost and then came home again, and the people who speak it are cultivating it with love and care.  I feel like I am doing something similar with Sandic- making a nest for this egg I have been given, waiting to see what happens.  Wampanoag inspires me greatly.
